Race Strategies

UEDF

This race consists of well armoured and well emp resistent ships. Their ships have the ability to kill many ships with very few losses. UEDF attacks Tiryniys very well, but with the right fleetcombination, no race is out of their league.

Tirynius

The Tirynius fleet consist of EMP ships (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) that stop ships from their ability to shoot. With this race you gain the ability to provide defence that stops losses outright and to attack without losses, if the correct ships are used. Tirynius are good against Syitorians and Odonata, who both have low emp resistence ships, however they can hit any race with proper planning. EMP ships are the most efficient in the universe, however they are only capable of stunning, not killing, the opposition.

Odanata

This is the most popular race. This race has an advantage with a low initiative (they shoot early) and the cloaked feature. Cloaked ships are hidden from all scans except Military Scans. However, Odonata ships are generally light armored so on attacks many losses can be expected. Odonata attacks are very difficult to defend against in many cases (especially, as you cannot be sure if it is Fighters, Corvettes or Frigates the Cloak player is sending). Odonata also posses great ships for defence, due to the popularity of their Fighters and Corvettes.

Syitorians

The Stealer race. The main feature of this race is the ability to take ships from the opposition in combat, and replacing their own fleet with the target´s (this includes a 18.5% profit, for the stealers). This ability allows Syitorians players to be flexible with fleet set up. Unfortunately Syitorians ships have a high intiative and shoot very late in combat, and it is hard to specialize with your stolen ships. Syitorian targeting requires most specialization and makes them somewhat harder to manage.

What to build

The first thing you need to do, before thinking about fleet combinations for your race, is read this post explaining the combat system:

And visit the shipstats page (most important factors in ships are their Class, T1, T2 and ETA):

UEDF

Early Round:
Attacking - Venture, Orbital Pods
Defending - Venture, Anubis are alliance defense ships
Mid Round:
Attacking - Medusa, Hawk, Orbital pods
Defending - Venture, Anubis
Late Round:
Attacking - Frigate or Destroyer Class fleet, with Cruiser or Battleship support.
Defending - Venture, Anubis, Cobra and Titan

Generally, the UEDF attack fleet revolves around their Frigate-Class (Medusa/Hawk/Titan/Orbital pod) and their Destroyer-Class (Pegasus/Deus). The low eta Corvette- and Fighter-Class ships (Anubis, Venture and later Cobra) are best suited for defense, while the high eta ships (Akira/Centurion/Colossos) will make excellent addition to a terran attack fleet.

Tirynius

Early Round:
Attacking - Wasp, Sabre, Orbital Pods
Defending - Sabre, Lotus are alliance defense ships
Mid Round:
Attacking - Stinger, Vengeance, Orbital pods
Defending - Wasp, Sabre, Lotus
Late Round:
Attacking - EMP Frigate and Cruiser fleets with Battleships or Fighters to support them.
Defending - Wasp, Sabre, Lotus, Proteus, Falcon

The EMP fleet is dependant on being able to freeze the opposition nearly completely. For this the Fighter Class vessels (Wasp, Sabre) are most efficient, however the Frigate-Class fleet is less targeted than a Fighter supported fleet, and thus midround the best attack fleet is purely FR based. Late round the EMP Cruiser and Battleship fleet will be very hard to stop.

Odonata

Early Round:
Attacking - Vampire, Blaze, Shadow, Orbital pod
Defending - Vampire, Cobalt, Blaze, Conquer
Mid Round:
Attacking - Vampire, Blaze, Conquer, Shadow OR Iridion, Orbital pods
Defending - Vampire, Cobalt, Blaze, Conquer
Late Round:
Attacking - Fighter - Corvette Fleet or Frigate and Cruiser fleet works best in the late round.
Defending - Vampire, Ghost, Cobalt, Blaze, Conquerors, Intinas

This is the most simple fleet to have, just a mass Fighter Fleet with some Corvettes to to gain roids. There are other possibilities, like using Frigates to attack with and others have used mass Corvettes rather than the Mass Fighter fleets. However, most stick to the simple Fighter fleet. This is very effective for defence, due to low eta.

Syitorians

There are many fleet compositions for Syitorians due to their steal capability
Early Round:
Attacking - Eagle, Rhino, Orbital pod
Defending - Venator, Eagle, Rhino
Mid Round:
Attacking - Ravager, Sentinel, Hunter, Rhino OR Ravager, Sentinel
Defending - Venator, Eagle, Rhino, Raptor
Late Round:
Attacking - Syit Frigate fleet, or any of the 3 other race´s stolen special pods together with syit CO, CR or DE class to flak
Defending - Venator, Raptor, Rhino, Eagle, Hammerhead

Its important to choose a path for your fleet early on. It is possible to use a Frigate fleet throughout, taking use of the Venators, Eagles, Rhino's and Sentinels with orbital pods. However stealing other races special pods is useful and keeping to a Corvette, Destroyer or Cruiser fleet is extremely efficient. Syitorian Destroyers are very powerful and often put off any UEDF attackers. Many people use Hercules and Widows on small attacks, just to steal Dues from UEDF target, others mass raptors and get them in defense. It is also possible to utilise every ship type and choose which to use on your target for each attack.
